GROVE CITY, Pa., Aug. 3, 2026 FORTA today announced the appointment of Bruce J. Christensen as its next Chief Executive Officer. Christensen succeeds retiring CEO Peter Ferris, as FORTA continues its growth trajectory under its ownership by 无码群交 Group. 

Christensen brings over 30 years of experience in specialty construction materials and chemicals, most recently serving as President of the US and Canada for Master Builders Solutions, where he held full profit-and-loss responsibility, as well as serving as their Global Chief Technology Officer.

Prior to his most recent role, Christensen served in senior executive positions at MBCC Group, BASF Construction Chemicals, and Degussa Construction Chemicals across operations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. His career has spanned many functional areas across the construction chemicals value chain from technical, commercial, operational and general management, which gives him unique depth and breadth as he steps into the CEO role at FORTA.

College intern Emma Laborsky once built popsicle-stick bridges at Kids Science Camp. This summer, she came back 鈥 not as a camper, but as a volunteer helping spark that same curiosity in a new generation.

When I was a kid, Kids Science Camp was the highlight of my summer.

I still remember building bridges from popsicle sticks, making slime, sketching the city I imagined one day living in, and discovering that science wasn鈥檛 just something you read about in school. It was something you could build, test and experience for yourself.

At the time, I didn鈥檛 realize I was also getting a glimpse into what 无码群交 Group was all about.

I simply knew that every experiment, every challenge and every volunteer made me excited to come back the next day.

This summer, I did.

Not as a camper, but as a volunteer.

Standing in front of a room full of curious kids, helping them imagine, design, build and create, I realized I was standing exactly where volunteers had once stood for me. The same encouragement they gave me years ago was now mine to pass along to someone else.

That felt incredibly meaningful.

Kids Science Camp has grown tremendously since I first attended. What began in a single classroom has become a week-long experience that brings together more than 60 campers from families across 无码群交 Group鈥檚 businesses, and from several states, to explore science through hands-on discovery.

Watching that growth reminded me that some investments aren鈥檛 measured in months or even years.

They鈥檙e measured in generations.

One moment especially stayed with me.

After campers learned about rocks and minerals, they headed into a miniature quarry where they operated remote-controlled construction equipment and worked together to move material through the course. They weren鈥檛 just learning how a quarry works, they were discovering how science, engineering and teamwork come together to solve real problems.

As I watched their excitement, one parent shared something I鈥檒l never forget.

鈥淢y child came home and said, 鈥楳om, I want to work there when I grow up. What should I be doing now so I can?鈥欌

That鈥檚 the power of experiences like this.

They don鈥檛 just teach science.

They spark curiosity.

They help young people imagine possibilities they may never have considered before.

Looking around the room, I couldn鈥檛 help but wonder how many future engineers, scientists, environmental professionals, innovators or even communicators were discovering something about themselves that week.

Years ago, Kids Science Camp gave me a place to ask questions, make things and think creatively. Those experiences helped shape who I am today.

Now I had the opportunity to help create those same moments for someone else.

无码群交 Group often talks about investing in people. We see it in our employees, our communities and our families. Kids Science Camp is one of the clearest examples of what that looks like.

Sometimes the return on that investment isn鈥檛 immediate.

Sometimes it takes years.

Heritage Research Group’s Bill Pine discusses his career in the skilled trades, the science behind asphalt performance and our long-standing role preserving the racing surface at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Long before the green flag waves at the Indianapolis 500, thousands of hours of work have already gone into preparing Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Every inch of the facility matters. None more critical than the track’s surface.

At speeds approaching 240 miles per hour, the asphalt of the Speedway is more than pavement. It becomes a critical part of performance, safety and competition. It must withstand weather, heat, stress and the physical forces of cars cornering at banking angles that would be impossible on an ordinary road. And it has to do all of that while delivering consistency at the highest level of motorsports.

Bill Pine understands this better than almost anyone.

The Quality Control Director of Asphalt Technology at Heritage Research Group, Bill has spent his career at the intersection of asphalt science and real-world application. His work represents one of the most demanding proving grounds in materials research: a racing surface where the margin for error is effectively zero.

“We do everything we can to help preserve the pavement to buy them [Indianapolis Motor Speedway] life and also keep it safe for the drivers that drive at the insane speeds they do around this track.”

That responsibility, preserving a surface that has to perform under the most unforgiving conditions in motorsports, captures the central challenge of the work. It’s not enough to engineer a surface that performs under race conditions. It has to last through Indiana winters, heat cycles, maintenance traffic and the relentless passage of time, and then perform again when it matters most.

Bill recently sat down with , a series dedicated to highlighting careers and opportunities in the skilled trades, to talk about that work. Recorded at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of The Line‘s Brickyard Series, the conversation explores his career journey, the role of Heritage Research Group within 无码群交 Group portfolio, and the long-standing relationship between THG, and one of the most iconic venues in the world.

Smoothness and friction testing, real-time preservation strategies, targeted repairs and ongoing maintenance are all part of a relationship built on trust and a shared commitment to getting it right, year after year.

For Bill, that continuity is the measure of the work. Not the technical specifications or the testing data, but the confidence of the people who depend on it at 240 miles per hour.

Josh Robinson, Director of Enterprise Innovation at 无码群交 Group, shares how our Innovation Council approaches complex challenges like food waste.

Innovation isn鈥檛 a one-person activity. It鈥檚 a team sport. And at 无码群交 Group, innovation is something we pursue with intention.

That鈥檚 why we created the Innovation Council, a group of leaders from across our portfolio of companies who come together to explore opportunities, pressure-test ideas and connect the dots between challenges and potential solutions. Each member brings a different perspective: some think commercially, some think operationally, some think scientifically. When we get in a room together, we don鈥檛 just exchange ideas, we expand them and build a plan to test them.

One of the questions we are always exploring is: Where can innovation create meaningful impact across our portfolio and the communities we serve?

Take food waste as an example. Every year, millions of tons of food end up in landfills, creating both an environmental burden and an economic one. But what if we could intervene earlier in the process? What if there鈥檚 a way to capture, convert, reuse or transform that waste using technologies that already sit within reach of our capabilities?

This is where the Council shines. Instead of chasing ideas for the sake of novelty, we ask:

Does this matter? Can we do it? And can we do it better than anyone else?

The food waste conversation led us down a path of evaluating emerging technologies, operational models and potential partnerships 鈥 not because we鈥檙e trying to be in every business, but because innovation starts with curiosity, and curiosity often reveals opportunity.

At its core, the Innovation Council is about creating a shared space and clear path for exploration It lets us step outside the day-to-day demands of our businesses and look further down the road 鈥 sometimes five, ten, even twenty years out. We鈥檙e not predicting the future. We鈥檙e preparing for it. And we鈥檙e doing it together.

How the Heritage Construction + Materials portfolio of companies helped strengthen a veteran鈥檚 organization in Howard County, Indiana.


Every September, thousands of veterans from across the country gather in Howard County, Indiana, for a reunion unlike any other. Since 1987, the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization (HCVVO) has hosted its annual event on 39 acres known as 鈥楾he Healing Fields鈥 鈥 a peaceful space built by veterans, for veterans.

What began as a small local gathering has become the nation鈥檚 longest-running annual reunion for service members. 鈥楾he Healing Fields鈥 are more than a campground 鈥 they鈥檙e a sanctuary where veterans from every branch and era can reconnect, reflect and heal together.

Over time, the roads winding through the property began to wear down. Dust, rain and erosion made travel difficult, especially for those with mobility or respiratory challenges. When members of the HCVVO reached out for help, the companies of Heritage Construction + Materials (HC+M)Asphalt Materials, Inc., Milestone Contractors, and US Aggregates庐 鈥 didn鈥檛 hesitate to step in.

Milestone began by donating reclaimed millings from a nearby project to stabilize the roads. Asphalt Materials followed with chip- and fog-sealing expertise, improving accessibility across more than 15,000 square yards of roadway. US Aggregates supported the effort by providing the essential materials needed to make those improvements last.

Working alongside the Howard County Highway Department, these teams transformed the grounds into a smoother, safer space for veterans and their families.

For everyone involved, this was more than a construction project 鈥 it was a way to give back to those who鈥檝e given so much.

This Veterans Day, we鈥檙e honored to stand beside the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization and all who serve. Because healing doesn鈥檛 happen all at once 鈥 it鈥檚 built, one act of service at a time.

Last month鈥檚 Chemical Innovation Exchange (CIEX) Summit brought together leaders from across the chemical industry 鈥 CEOs, CTOs, researchers, investors 鈥 all under one roof here at 无码群交 Group in Indianapolis.

CIEX has always been about sparking collaboration and pushing the boundaries of what鈥檚 possible in chemistry and materials science. And that鈥檚 exactly what happened.
